Hello! This is great! Let me start off with a small intro of myself.....My name is Stacy, I am a General Practitioner in the St.Louis, Mo area. I was a RDH prior to becoming a dentist. Cosmetic dentistry is my FAV!!
One of the funniest things regarding patients......I'm borrowing this from my best friend from Dental School (Emily). In our oral surgery rounds she had a patient report that, "there is an alien in my mouth!". Curious as to what this patient could be talking about...Emily looks inside....sure enough.....looks like an alien !!!! Actually, it was a Liver Clot....a very large one at that. I guess to the lay person...and one with quite an imagination.....it could look like an alien!! HA HA! Would love to hear other patient stories....they make my day!!

Hello to all! My name is Terri and I am an Office Manager in St. Louis. I have been in the dental field for 25 years. I have assisted, done general front desk and worked for a small dental supply company (in the service department, purchasing and outside sales) before becoming an Office Manager. I have had a lot of fun, met some great people and learned quiet a bit in the last 25 years. I have been at this office for 6 years-this time. (I worked for my boss for a couple of years about 15 years ago.) This time I've found a place to stay. (I told my boss he's stuck with me until he retires!) In our office there is one doctor (General Dentistry), 2 Hyg, 3 Assistants and me. Two of the assistants rotate up front with me a couple of days a week to help out. We run 5 operatories, 2 of which are dedicated hyg rooms. We are very lucky and all of us get along great and do a lot of things together outside of the office. I am married with one very pampered Bichon named Molly.
Hi everyone! I'm currently an OM for a multi-site practice but I'm phasing myself out (after 14 yrs) to pursue my writing and speaking interests. I've worked in both the clinical and administrative areas of the office and love both.
I've been lucky to have such a great boss - our office is digital and fun to work in with many long-term patients that are very much like family. Looking forward to getting to know you all!

My name is Katrina and i just received my Dental Assisting license in the mail. I have been working in the veterinary field for 9 years and decided to try something new. I haven't found an RDA job yet but that is because I'm back in school full time to pursue dental hygiene. So in the meantime I'm still working at the vet hospital cleaning animals teeth. My classmates all make fun of me for not using my license. I even won an award at our graduation party for "The person most likely not work as a dental assistant."
Kat how is is cleaning animals teeth? I always thought about doing that. Ourse I know the vets won't pay my current salary. But that should be a good training for you and dental hygiene school. Where are you located?
I am a Dental Hygienist and Live in Frisco Texas. Just went back to hygiene after a 25 year break.. Lots of new toys to play with...Enjoying being back....
Hi, my name is Linda Zdanowicz. I'm an om and a da and I work for a great dentist and with a wonderful team. I've been with this practice for almost 9 years. I have 3 children who are 26 (a daughter recently married), a son 23 in graduate school and my youngest is a son 17 who will graduate high school this year. My husband's name is Mark and I have a big pitifully shy black lab named Lucy that I adopted last year. We're all crazy about her.

I am a Junior at Benedictine University and I am a Pre-Dental Student! I am very excited about this field, and was introduced to this website by my mentor. I look forward to learning more and more about Dentistry!!
I'm a new RDH, just graduated and moved to Chicago, IL from Dallas, TX! I'm excited to be here and get started, but apparently, not many jobs exist in these parts. I was an assistant for 2.5 years before hygiene school, and that - I really enjoyed. Now if only I could get working in hygiene...
I just discovered this site from a CDS Review article. Although I am returned as the OM in my husband's orthodontic practice, I continue to be engaged in dentistry. I am interested in dialoguing with women dentists about the Alliance of the ADA. We are a spousal member organization partnering with the ADA at the national, state and local levels. The vast majority of our members are women, but we recognize the changing face of dentistry and are reaching out to the spouses of women dentists as best we can. AADA is very involved in legislative advocacy for the dental profession, in promoting dental health through education at the community level and in supporting the dental family as a whole. How can we engage the male spouses? What insights do you have for the Alliance?
Hello to all !!! My name is Amy Allen I have been a Dental Assistant for 16 years. I live in sunny Florida all my life. I have such a passion for what I do an luv what I do. I have worked in all areas of dentistry but the one area make me smile and feel good are the KIDS!!!! The feeling of being able to comfort them , or just introducing them to my water gun or my tooth tickler. I have 2 nephews that I luv and adore. I work in a practice that has multiple doctors, the doctor I work for is the greatest dentist I have ever work for. We do alot of crown and bridge, so I guess making temps are my favorite thing.
